Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus Pack series is an early paranormal romance sequence set within the interconnected shifter world she later expanded through the Pride books and related stories. Pack Challenge establishes the Magnus Pack through Sara and Zach Sheridan. Zach is the alpha male of the Magnus Pack, and his arrival forces Sara to confront truths about her heritage and the shifter world surrounding her. The friendship among Sara, Miki, and Angelina becomes one of the strongest threads running through the trilogy. Miki moves into the foreground in Go Fetch!, where her intelligence, abrasive wit, and lack of patience for intimidation make her an unusual match for Conall Víga-Feilan, a formidable wolf shifter associated with Magnus. Their dynamic exemplifies Laurenston’s preference for heroines who are not overwhelmed by physically powerful supernatural men. Here Kitty, Kitty! then shifts attention to Angelina, completing the progression among the three friends. Her romance with Nikolai “Nik” Vorislav broadens the supernatural landscape beyond wolves because Nik is a Siberian tiger shifter.
